Hand-Made Christmas Show
Hope everyone is having a GREAT Holiday Season so far. I know I am, and judging by the turnout yesterday, I have to say that it seems a lot of people are in good spirits and are helping to support their local artists. The weather was PERFECT and most people were really interested in the whole “hand-made” thing. I met some really cool artists including Jan (She was spinning her own yarn out of wool on an antique spinning wheel!) who made absolutely beautiful purses and scarfs, Ted (He of the cool, avant-gard variety type that spins sweet tunes on his old Victrola) who had really wild vintage clothes, lunchboxes, and other objects-de-art embelished with anything and everything! (I heard about a pair of killer shoes he had sold, that Austin Powers himself would have coveted, but was to late to see them.), Eric (Who I sold my first piece to, -Thanks again brotha-, and who had funky tye-died shirts and sweet conga drums. This Saturday he said he’s going to have the Spin-Art Machine out and demonstrate its awesome powers.) and finally I have to mention the “hoola-hoop ladies” who were “hoola-hooping” all day! Pretty entertaining to say the least. All in all it was a fantastic show, and we will all do it again (bigger and better of course) this coming Saturday. Get out there and support your local artists!!
